About Susan Morris
I chose childcare as my profession because I saw the need for families to have a safe and loving place for their children while they work.
As a mother of three and grandmother of five, I understand how important it is for children to feel comfortable, supported, and free to be themselves. I personally connect with each child and meet them at their individual level because every child learns differently.
I believe childcare is not about worksheets, but about building life skills, confidence, and emotional understanding. I focus on helping children play, learn, laugh, and grow while working through emotions with care and consistency. Children in my care experience a structured environment with routines, support, and encouragement so they are prepared for school and life.

Curriculum
At Precious Gems Family Daycare, we use Creative Curriculum, a play-based approach that focuses on the whole child. This curriculum is designed to support children’s development through hands-on learning, exploration, and meaningful everyday experiences.

Our daily routine provides structure, consistency, and a balance of learning, play, and rest to support each child’s development.
6:45 AM to 9:00AM
Arrival, quiet individual activities, and breakfast

Circle time, music and movement, and story time

Exploratory time: Infants participate in sensory, language, creative, fine motor, and gross motor activities
Exploratory time: Older children engage in discovery, dramatic play, language development, and creative expression
10:45AM to 11:30AM
Outside time
11:30AM to 1:00PM
Toileting, wash up, story time, and preparation for lunch followed by lunch
1:00PM to 3:00PM
Quiet time
3:00PM to 3:30PM
Wash up and afternoon snack
3:30PM to 6:00PM ( 5:30PM on Wednesdays)
Exploratory time (inside and outside), including sensory, language, creative, and dramatic play activities

Before & After School Care:
We offer before and after school care for families in surrounding schools. We are also part of the Military FCC providers which provide childcare for military families.

Parent Enrollment
We are excited to welcome new families to Precious Gems Family Daycare. Our enrollment process is designed to help families learn about our program and feel confident as they join our childcare community.
Parents are encouraged to review the Parent Handbook, which provides important information about our policies, daily routines, expectations, and program guidelines. The handbook helps families understand how our program operates and ensures that everyone begins the year with clear communication and shared expectations.
Our goal is to make the enrollment process simple, informative, and supportive for every family.

Precious Gems Family Daycare uses the Playground App as our parent communication and attendance platform. This system allows us to stay connected with families while maintaining accurate daily records for each child in care. Parents will sign their child in and out each day using a personal PIN or QR code at our on-site kiosk. This ensures secure and reliable attendance tracking.
The Playground App also provides an easy way for families to stay informed and connected with their child’s daily experience while in our care. It supports a smooth and organized routine, allowing us to focus fully on providing a safe, nurturing environment while giving families peace of mind knowing their child is well cared for throughout the day.
